THE YEAR THAT WAS 2018-19

President’s Report

The Rotary Club of Adelaide Parks has certainly been busy in 2018-2019.

The club’s actions and outcomes are found in the pages that follow, all achieved by a group of people that come together with a common sense of purpose to improve the lives of people in our community and in communities elsewhere in the world. There is no doubt that we enjoy our Rotary service and collectively we do so with energy and enthusiasm, and we have some fun along the way.

The club started 2018-2019 with the development of a plan of action around Rotary International’s six goals and we added a further goal about strengthening our Rotary Club. We then got busy! Our 2018-2019 story is below. It is reported in a manner that focuses on our club’s achievements and, as such, does not highlight contributions from individuals. However, I do wish to acknowledge and thank two most significant Rotarians for their thoughtful, energetic and committed activities throughout the year.

Kathy Cotter is amazing! Her continual efforts to organise us all with rosters, functions, BBQ’s, speakers, schedules etc. whilst maintaining a calm and confident manner epitomizes the best of Rotary friendship and fellowship. Our sincere thanks Kathy.

Scott Mason, our secretary, public officer, BBQ supplies officer, and regular fix-it person has contributed significantly to the management of a multitude of club activities. Scott’s commitment to the ideals of Rotary is consistently displayed and valued. Our sincere thanks Scott.

I wish to express my appreciation to all members for their contributions throughout the year. I am certainly pleased with what has been achieved. In summary, we forged a direction through collaboration and planning, we established a sense of alignment with Rotary’s goals for the year and we were committed to achieving what we set out to do. I hope all of RCAP share a sense of satisfaction.
